Our Friday night Wrestling for BJJ class gives kids dedicated time to develop their takedowns and wrestling skills specifically for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Students learn stance, movement, setups, finishes, proper head placement, and how to transition from a takedown into a strong BJJ position. Our goal is to teach kids effective wrestling while developing safe habits that translate directly to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Takedowns and wrestling are also incorporated throughout our regular adult BJJ classes.

Open Mat gives students additional time to train, drill techniques, work on specific areas of their game, and get extra rounds outside of regular instruction.

Kids Open Mat — Fridays at 6:00 PM

Frequently asked questions

Everything a beginner wonders

Do I need any experience or equipment?

None at all. Just wear comfortable clothes you can move in — we'll loan you any gear and walk you through everything on day one.

I'm out of shape. Am I too far behind?

No. Jiu jitsu is built on leverage and technique, not size or strength, and everyone starts as a beginner. You'll build fitness as you go, at your own pace.

Am I too old to start?

Not even close. We have students who started in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. Jiu jitsu rewards patience and technique over youth — you'll train at a pace that's right for you.

Will I get hurt?

Safety comes first at 410. You control the intensity, coaches supervise closely, and beginners learn in a controlled, low-pressure way. You'll never be thrown into anything you're not ready for.

Is it safe for my child?

Yes. Classes are age-grouped and closely supervised, mats are cleaned after every session, and our coaches emphasize control, respect, and safety in every class.

Do I have to compete?

Never. Competition is there if you ever want it, but most of our students train purely for fitness, self-defense, and fun. It's completely up to you.

Can parents watch class?

Always. There's comfortable seating right by the mats — and plenty of parents end up joining a class themselves.

What happens during the free 7-day trial?

You get a full week of classes, completely free with no commitment. Come as often as you like, meet the coaches, and see if 410 feels like home.
